Obituary for Gloria Bueza Peralta

May 13, 1938 - June 24, 2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Gloria Bueza Peralta. Gloria died peacefully at home in Vancouver, B.C. on June 24, 2019.

Gloria was born in the Philippines on May 13, 1938 to Anatolio Bueza and Feliciana Amisola Bueza. She was one of eight children. In 1965 young Gloria received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. Educated, accomplished, and beautiful inside and out, she spoke English, two dialects of the Filipino language, and Spanish.

In 1966 Gloria married Cecil Peralta and had three children: Cecilia, Judith and John. In 1974 she and her family emigrated to Canada, to provide better opportunities for her children. For most of her career in Canada she worked as a dietary aide, providing good, nourishing food for hospital patients. She was an excellent cook.

Gloria enjoyed reading, gardening, and going for walks. Her two biggest loves, however, were her family and her faith. A loving and loyal mother and grandmother, she also doted on the family dogs. She was dedicated to her husband and proud of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved without measure.

Devoted to her church, Gloria was unwavering in her beliefs. She attended mass on a regular basis, where she made many friends. She derived a sense of camaraderie from the church community and enjoyed participating in church activities and events.

Gloria is survived by her husband Cecil, her daughters Cecilia and Judith, her son John, and her grandchildren Kevin, Ryan, and Juliana. She also leaves behind sons-in-law Kevin Bales, Gary Martin and daughter-in-law Sheri Ann Peralta, as well as her siblings, nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her many cherished friends.

Catholic funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 8842 119th Street, Delta, BC, on Friday, July 5th at 10:30 am.
