November 30, 1944 – September 10, 2026
Mary Louise “Lou” Belaschke of Burnaby/South Surrey passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Lou was a wonderful and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She spent her life caring for others and had an incredible capacity for love. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved each of them endlessly.
In her final moments, Lou was surrounded by her daughters, who held her hand and stayed by her side. Although they never wanted to let her go, they found comfort in knowing that she was finally free from pain and at peace.
Lou will be lovingly remembered by her husband Eric of 65 years and their daughters, Carla and Colleen (John); and her grandchildren, Kristi (Landon), Molli, Katie (Drew), Jesse, Karly (Jackson), Luke, and Jack; and her great-grandchildren, Billie, Nolan, and Daisie.
Lou was predeceased by her beloved son, Bill and her grandson Dylan Thomas. While her family will miss her deeply, there is comfort in imagining Lou and Bill together again, reunited after being apart for too long.
Lou did not wish to have a funeral. Instead, she would want her family and friends to remember her in the moments that would make her smile. So, the next time you have a cup of coffee, play a game of bingo or are at the casino or scratching a scratch ticket think of Lou, smile, and perhaps consider it a little game of luck from her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
