Obituary for Paul Ian Bideshi

April 6, 1962, - January 21, 2024

It is with great sadness that the Bideshi family announces that (Paul) Ian Bideshi passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 22, 2024.

Ian is survived by his parents Monica and Ralph Bideshi, siblings David and Sharon, his two children, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Peter.

Ian was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, Lord Byng Secondary School and graduated from St. Patrick’s Secondary School. Ian trained as a cook and worked in the Vancouver food service industry for many years. He was an amazing cook and a career highlight was working at Expo 86. He eventually moved to the Insurance field where he served his clients well. In more recent years, Ian took acting classes and appeared in a number of locally-filmed movies and TV shows.

Ian was very intelligent and always curious about everything; he was interested in the world and read the newspaper daily. Ian was very social and loved to talk to people, he liked to know a little bit about a lot of things and was always able to strike up a conversation with a well-informed comment or a thoughtful question with people from all walks of life.

Ian often said that raising his children were the happiest days of his life. He will be remembered by his daughter Cassandra and many friends for his sense of humour, his genuine interest in people, his engaging personality and his desire to help others. His friends will remember him for his loyal friendship, his laughter and spontaneity.

Ian would want to be remembered as someone who mattered in the lives of people, especially those who sought to find faith and inner healing. He was a devout Catholic, praying his rosary daily and attending mass regularly.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on February 15, 2024 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 2028 7th Avenue in Vancouver. Reception to follow in the church hall.
