It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Forrest Donily on July 12, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.
Born on May 25, 1951, Richard lived a life rooted in kindness, warmth, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. Richard had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen, welcomed, and valued.
A true Renaissance man, he embraced life fully and found beauty in its simplest moments—time spent with family, sharing stories filled with laughter, and offering a helping hand wherever it was needed. His gentle wisdom, generous heart, and enduring optimism shaped the lives of so many.
Richard is lovingly survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Steve, Nathan, and Nicole; his grandchildren, Lola, Kai, and Ethan; his great-grandson, Lorenzo; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will carry his memory forward. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Mathew, whom he held close in his heart always.
Though our hearts are deeply broken, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. His love, laughter, wisdom, and bright spirit will live on in all who knew him. His smile had a way of warming every room, and his outlook on life—always seeing the glass as half full—will continue to inspire us.
Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Richard’s life on Saturday, July 25, at 1:00 p.m. in the Amenity Room at 3170 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC. All who knew and loved him are welcome to gather, share memories, and honour a man whose kindness left a lasting imprint on every heart he touched.
