Obituary for Detlef (Doug) Franz Falkenhagen
November 1, 1943 – February 25, 2022
It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Detlef Falkenhagen on February 25, 2022.
He was born November 1, 1943 in Flotenstein, Pomerania, Germany. Detlef was predeceased by his parents Markus and Elfriede and sister Gisela. He survived by his children Alana (Remo) and Robert, grandchildren Bianca and Angelo. Also mourning his loss is his brother Olaf (Rose) along with nieces and nephews in California and friends here in BC. Detlef immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1957 at the age of 14.
We are going to miss you and you will be forever in our hearts Dad.
A private family prayer service was celebrated on Thursday, March 10, 2022, 11:00 am at the Amherst Mortuary Service Center, Coquitlam BC. His place of rest will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver BC held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you consider making a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) or the BC Diabetes Foundation.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Burnaby General Hospital for taking care of dad during his final days.
Fond memories and expression of sympathy may be shared below for the family.
