Obituary for Daniel Galt Heney

Daniel Galt Heney of Vancouver, BC. Born October 18, 1959, Daniel passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2026.
Son of the late Edward Springett Heney, Daniel was born with an exceptional spirit of generosity, compassion, and wisdom that touched everyone he met. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to helping others, exploring a wide range of healing traditions that reflected his deep love and respect for life.
He trained in Shiatsu, sharing his knowledge through workshops in Finland on multiple occasions, studied and taught Tai Chi, earned a Master’s in Herbology, became certified in Touch for Health, trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and held a Diploma of Homeopathy.
Combining this knowledge with his work as a counselor and health consultant, Daniel had a uniquely rare and powerful ability to guide people toward harmony, balance, and a more peaceful, integrated way of living.
Those who knew Daniel experienced his radiant light and gentle presence—a warmth where no darkness could linger. His care, insight, and generosity left an enduring mark on everyone he met.

Daniel is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth Joan Heney; his siblings Matthew Watts Heney and his son Aidan Theodore Heney, Noah Springett Heney, and Samantha Torrance Heney; and his beloved son, Aaron Hai Neng Heney.
We love you and miss you, Daniel.
