May 22, 1992 – August 18, 2023
With tremendous sadness we announce the passing of Kevan Karstunen. Kevan passed unexpectedly of a heart attack on August 18, 2023. He is the beloved son of John and Lisa, loving big brother to Keith, Kimberley and Kyle, Grandson to the late Marja (2017) and Wally (2007) Pecaski and Helve Hassinen (2017), nephew to David, Michael and (Veronica 2023) Pecaski. He will be dearly missed by his cousins Kaitlyn, Kurtis Kris (Jade) and many extended family.
Kevan was a vibrant, intelligent and loving young man. He had a love of people, education and life!
After graduating from UBC he received a scholarship to go to NTU in Taiwan where he completed a business degree, and learned to speak, read and write mandarin. He continued on to complete his MBA and wrote his thesis on crypto currency.
His love of people shone through as his door was always wide open to help and welcome everyone. His closest friend referred to him as his brother and his friend's parents referred to him as their son.
People who knew Kevan said that they are a better person today because of him. He was always willing to teach them, inspire them and motivate them to be the best they could be.
He loved to help people so whether it was at school or in the gym, you could count on Kevan for guidance. His sweet gentle nature and his patience really inspired and helped many people that were a part of his life.
If Kevan was going to do something, you knew it would be a job well done. He was passionate about life, working hard, seeing and exploring all that nature had to offer in all the beautiful cities he'd lived in, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Shanghai and especially Taiwan.
Let's not forget Kevan's love and enthusiasm for the gym, squatting 600lbs! He truly turned his life into loving and pursuing everything to the fullest.
Thank you Kevan for sharing your life with us. Your guardian angel has taken you to heaven now where we'll all be united again in God's great glory. Loving you forever and always.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Anthony's Parish, 2347 Inglewood Ave. West Vancouver on September 8th @ 11:00 am.
