Obituary for David ‘George’ Price
April 28, 1936 – August 3, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that the family of David ‘George’ Price, 90, of North Vancouver, British Columbia, announces his peaceful passing at North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver, BC, on August 3, 2026.
Born in Avonport, Kings County, Nova Scotia on April 28, 1936, he was the first born to David George Powell and Amy Eileen (nee Hancock) Price. After being diagnosed with stage four cancer in June, George shared his thoughts on his life:
"Having recently celebrated my 90th birthday, I can look back and celebrate a life fully enjoyed. I've been fortunate to have had two loving wives, Patricia Auclair and Susan Dale Neff, four children, John, Dawn, David and Randy, and four grandchildren, Brandon and Kenzie, Amanda and Rebecca.
I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served from 1955-1981.
After basic training I was posted to Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Station Gander, RCAF Station Beaverbank, RCAF Station Ottawa, RCAF Station Summerside, RCAF Station Cold Lake and finally retiring from CFB Ottawa after 26 years of service. After retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces I relocated to Florida and married Susan Neff and made a home with her and her daughter Rachel Neff. I did a variety of jobs while enjoying my life in the sun and then returned to Canada in 2009 where I first lived in my native Nova Scotia before spending 14 years in North Vancouver, BC.

George is now at peace and is survived by his sisters Margaret Hazlett and Gwen Davis; sons John Clahane (Sandra), Randy Price, daughter Dawn Mucciarone (Tony) and grandchildren Amanda and Rebecca Clahane, Brandon and Kenzie Mucciarone; and daugter-in-law Kiki Li. During these last years, George enjoyed the steadfast companionship of his dear friend Caroline Spika with whom he was able to travel and create many friends and memories.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, and his brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Carol, brother-in-law Paul Davis, brother-in-law Ronald (Shorty) Hazlett, and son David Price.
George enjoyed golfing, playing crib, wood turning, and carving.
George’s family would like to thank all the staff at North Shore Hospice for their comassion and care.
A family celebration of George's life will be held in Nova Scotia.
