Obituary for Bachan 'Bea' Kaur Sangha
September 6, 1931 – April 25, 2023
Bachan Sangha, a Vancouver Sikh pioneer passed away peacefully on April 25th at the age of 91. Bea was born and raised in Vancouver where she lived all her wonderful life.
Bea married Tommy, the love of her life and worked alongside him as he built a successful trucking company. She was a devoted mother to three children: Judy, Darcy and Terri.
She also spent many years working for CP Air and she and Tommy loved to travel with family and friends. Bea devoted much of her time as a Director of the India Cultural Centre, Gudwara Nanak Niwas in Richmond where she enjoyed visiting with her many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Tommy, daughter Terri and daughter-in-law Denise and survived by her daughter, Judy (Brian), son Darcy, grandson Jeffrey (Ginelle) and great grandchildren Linden and Reilly. She is survived by her sisters Paje and Dee, brothers Jeet and Dave and sisters-in-law Satwant, Seso, Balwinder, Harbans and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Blenheim Lodge for the loving care they provide to Bea and her devoted friends Yaser and Mak.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family. We invite all to attend prayer service at the India Cultural Centre, Gudwara Nanak Niwas (8500 No. 5 Road, Richmond B.C.) starting at 3pm on Friday May 5. All condolences to be paid at the Gudwara.
