Obituary for Marie Bernadette (Bernie) Seipp

December 11, 1960 – October 23, 2023

With sadness, we said goodbye to our dear sister, aunt, and friend who passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at age 62. Bernie is fondly remembered by her brothers Richard (Barbara) of Oakville and Tim (Claudette) of Penticton; sisters Dorothy McClelland of Vancouver, Sheila Matsuo of Kelowna and Kathy (Brad) of Osoyoos; her nieces and nephews Paul and Gail Seipp; Greg and Brian Matsuo; Michael McClelland; Robyn, Cary and Andrew Seipp; Claire and Andrew Butler and their families plus many cousins across the country. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Seipp, and brother Phillip. Bernie will be greatly missed by her friends, roommates, and the staff at her Arlington Steet home where she was a resident for many years under the care of the Developmental Disabilities Association of BC. In appreciation of the care, joy, and understanding she enjoyed at her home, we request instead of flowers, donations be made in Bernie’s memory to Developmental Disabilities Association, Adult Services, #100 – 3851 Shell Road Richmond BC V6X 2W2 or give@develop.bc.ca.

A private gathering of family and her closest friends to celebrate Bernie’s life will be held on Sunday, November 19th with burial to follow on Monday, November 20th at Ocean View Burial Park, 4100 Imperial Street, BC. If you wish to share your stories and memories of Bernadette during the celebration of life or wish to attend via our Zoom link, please contact Kathy Butler at kabutler@telus.net by November 17th. Remembrances may also be left below this page.
