June 14, 1953 – December 11, 2021
December 11, 2021, at 11:20pm, Graham passed away three days after being admitted to the Vancouver Hospice Society. His journey with cancer started in 2014, but he faced it with strength & dignity always carrying a positive, optimistic attitude. He received amazing support from his wife, family, friends, medical team including the BC Cancer Society and Ravensong Community Health Services. The family would like to thank all for the treatments and care received.
Graham was loved as a husband, partner, teacher, mentor, brother, brother-in-law, son, uncle, co-worker, boss and friend. Graham lived his life on his terms. He was gentle, kind & passionate. He loved, he laughed, he was aware of his surroundings and not afraid to speak his mind about his convictions or issues of the world. He loved sports, playing golf, enjoyed reading, good food and wine. Often he would be found reading the newspaper enjoying his Starbucks. He was a team player and enjoyed doing tasks with his virtual game establishing connections easily. He established lifelong friendships throughout his whole life - through work or play.
Graham respected his teachings from the elders who taught him so many great things. He humbly recognized the beauty and gifts that Creator has given us all. Songs of ceremony and the honour of carrying the pipe were held in high esteem. As a result, wisdom and encouragement were shared by Graham to all of those who asked. Creator was a big part of that. He believed in people and wanted to help in whatever way possible.
Graham is survived by his soulmate & wife Darlene, mother Betty, sister Laura (Michael) and nephew Tyler, brother Glenn (Deanne). Also many relatives from Alberta, USA, England & Australia.
Darlene would like to recognize the support, care and love given by Randy, Mary, Lori, Amanda, Lea, Niko, Darlene F, Diane, Michelle, Karen, Siobhan, Dawn, Terry & Irene, Pam & Jim, Trisha, Eric, Chris, Jim, Sophie, Kimberly R, Freida, Ben, Louie, Sia and Janet. Also our fur babies Buffalo and Tika who gave much comfort and joy to Graham.
Graham would have been honoured in his humble way for your love, kindness and thoughtfulness to all those that have reached out by email, messaging, phone calls, or Facebook.
A celebration will be planned in the spring in the form of a talking circle amongst the cedars. This will be a time to share your thoughts or just be surrounded by those who knew Graham.
Those interested in attending please contact his spouse Darlene or a mutual friend. Details will be provided at a later time on Grahams Facebook account.
To all my relations, with love and kindness.
Miigwetch, merci, thank you Darlene
