Obituary

Obituary for Valentina Tan

February 14, 1933 – January 26, 2022

Valentina Tan passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Demetrio, beloved children Annabelle (Simeon), Lisa (John), and Philip (Ellen). She will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren, whom she dearly loved: Jaclyn, Michael, Kathleen, Andrew, Robert, Matthew, Ryan, Sarah and Christian, great-grandchildren Grace, Diana, and Luke, surviving siblings Rosita, Teresita and Lolita, and many nieces and nephews.

Valentina emigrated from the Philippines, with her husband and children. She spent many years working alongside her husband Demetrio, on a family-owned laundry and newspaper distribution business. When she retired, she relished going for her daily long walks and playing piano. Valentina had a special gift for playing the piano without reading musical notes. Her other hobby was travelling. She travelled extensively with her husband to many countries and cities in Asia, Europe, and North America. But, her ultimate joy was just being around her family.

A Funeral Mass is being held at 11:00 AM on February 4, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Vancouver BC. As well, a Prayer Service is being held at 7:30 PM on February 3, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua.

We would like to thank family and friends for their unwavering prayers and support, especially during our Mom’s illness. Most of all we would like to thank Valentina, our Mom and Grandmother, for her tremendous love and devotion to her family throughout her life.

We love you Mom. Rest in peace.
