Obituary for Helen Louise Vegh

January 15, 1950 - December 9, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend Helen. Helen was predeceased by her parents, the love of her life Rod and her faithful “little girl” Murphy.

She is survived by her brother Doug (Susan), extended family and a large community of friends.

Helen was a wonderful educator, she worked and dedicated 42 years at Sunny Hill daycare centre. She enjoyed teaching the young children, they were the source of her biggest joy in life.

Upon retirement, she divided her time between many arts projects, and crafts. She spent hours knitting, painting, and planning her next projects. Many of her creations were gifted to various local charities.

Helen was never one to sit idled. She always stepped-up and gave a hand when and where it was needed.

Later in life, Helen took on a new challenge - teaching adults and becoming a board member at Burnaby’s Community Centred College for the Retired.

In her free time, she walked Murphy and friends, supported her friends and neighbours in her strata and made her friends feel special with all her little attentions and great gift of time. Helen’s philosophy of life was to treat people with respect and kindness. She truly appreciated what others brought into her life.

Celebration of Life - Will take place in early 2023. Details to be confirmed.
